"Milking cows in winter was a good job. On a
cold winter morning the byre was always warm, and leaning against a warm cow
was at least comfortable."
Dennis Rae on milking at Barcloy (1938/1973).
Newly opened in May 2005, a former milking byre, our two fine
holiday cottages are fully equipped and beautifully decorated. They lead out
into attractive private gardens with views across 'Bonnie Galloway' to the
Carsphairn hills.
Each house is equipped with an electric cooker,
dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave oven, dvd player, TV, hi/fi, bbq, garden
furniture, coffee machine, hairdryer and complimentary toiletries in addition
to all the basics you would expect. Washing facilities are in an adjacent
building. Homegrown vegetables, eggs and honey are for sale depending on
availability. Sorry no pets please. Smokers - an ashtray is provided for
outdoor use!
From the courtyard at the back of the cottages
there`s a stunning view to the North and Barcloy Hill.
